Accelerated Reader is the system we employ for motivating reading and literacy skills among our students. It is a literature-based program which builds critical thinking skills by encouraging plenty of reading practice.
The media center strongly supports the Accelerated Reader program which became fully implemented at Talawanda Middle School in 2002. We are currently working on developing our collection in order to better support those students whose reading levels are below average and those students whose reading levels are way above average. We encourage students to recommend any Accelerated Reader title that we do not have in the media center.
