• Although students usually come to the media center from their Reading/Language Arts class, they are welcome to visit at any time; however, students must present a signed passport, indicating their teacher has authorized their trip to the media center. Students must also sign in and out on the Student Sign-in Sheet on the counter.
• Students are not permitted to bring backpacks, food, gum, nor drinks into the media center.
• Students must ask permission before using the internet, and internet use must be for educational purposes ONLY.
• Students must pay to print any materials in the media center. The cost is 10¢ per page for black ink and 25¢ per page for color ink. However, students may print for free in the computer lab as this is covered by their student fees.
• Students are expected to be on their best behavior while in the media center. No disruptive behavior will be tolerated.
• Late books are charged a fine of five cents (5¢) per school day for each day school is in session that the item is late.
• Reference books may only be checked out overnight. Weekends count as overnight. Late reference books are charged a fine of twenty-five (25¢) per school day beyond the due date.
• Periodicals may be checked out overnight and are charged five cents (5¢) per school day for overdues.
• Lost books will be assessed the replacement cost. If a book is lost and paid for, there is no fine added on top of the cost of the book. However, if the book is later found and brought in, the price of the book minus the fine will be reimbursed.
• Damaged books will be assessed the cost of repair. If the book is beyond reasonable repair, the full price will be charged.
• It is the responsibility of the student to notify us in case of absence from school so we may adjust the fine accordingly. Students absent on the day his/her book is due will not be charged any fine if the book is returned upon his/her first day returning to school.
